The Community of Ashby will be hosting the first annual Ashby Legacy Award Event on Friday, July 16th at 5:30pm at the Ashby City Park. This event will showcase individuals who have made an impactful difference in the Ashby community, past or present. This event will take place during Appreciation Days each year. Community, family and friends are encouraged to attend. Ashby holds a special place in our hearts and we would like to take some time to recognize individuals each year who have left their mark in this amazing community.

Ashby Roots started in the fall of 2018 and is open to all girls’ grades 1st & above to join us for any or all of our events at any time. Hometown Help: Unique Community Fund Enables Town of Ashby to Take Care of Their Own During COVID-19 Crisis
Despite a small population that hovers around 500, the people of Ashby, Minnesota are making a big impact in their community. Rallying around the challenges faced by the economic effects of the coronavirus, the Ashby Legacy Fund—the town’s community fund—raised over $52,000 in recent weeks to support more than a dozen local businesses and over 100 families who are experiencing financial hardship.

Ashby Legacy Fund Raises Over $70k for Tornado Relief
On July 8th, 2020 an EF4 tornado ripped between the communities of Ashby and Dalton in central Minnesota. With winds swirling as fast as 200mph, the storm left a trail of devastation in its wake. Crops, trees, and homes were extensively damaged. Sadly, one person perished. With the Ashby and Dalton areas already reeling from economic and public health impacts from the current pandemic, starting down the long and emotionally wrought trail of tornado recovery is even more challenging.

“Live Your Life Like You’re the Hero in Your Own Movie”
Ashby Public School alumni Brandon Sethre is championing the cause of Ashby Legacy Fund (ALF) as he runs in the Extreme North Dakota Ultra Marathon. Living the mission of the Ashby Legacy Fund, Brandon, an extreme athlete, has two goals in completing this twelve hour race: to show kids that anything is possible if you give something 100% and to raise funds to support his hometown community through donations to ALF.

Ashby Legacy Fund Announces the Rollout of their Community Fund
Beginning October 1st the town of Ashby will see a number of community initiatives rolled out by the new community foundation, the Ashby Legacy Fund. As a community-led foundation, the Ashby Legacy Fund was established by a group of Ashby alumni with the single purpose of investing back into the community to assist in preserving Ashby as a special place to live for residents and families for generations to come.
