The Community of Ashby will be hosting the first annual Ashby Legacy Award Event on Friday, July 16th at 5:30pm at the Ashby City Park. This event will showcase individuals who have made an impactful difference in the Ashby community, past or present. This event will take place during Appreciation Days each year. Community, family and friends are encouraged to attend. Ashby holds a special place in our hearts and we would like to take some time to recognize individuals each year who have left their mark in this amazing community.

With winds swirling as fast as 200mph, the storm left a trail of devastation in its wake. Crops, trees, and homes were extensively damaged. Sadly, one person perished. With the Ashby and Dalton areas already reeling from economic and public health impacts from the current pandemic, starting down the long and emotionally wrought trail of tornado recovery is even more challenging.

Living the mission of the Ashby Legacy Fund, Brandon, an extreme athlete, has two goals in completing this twelve hour race: to show kids that anything is possible if you give something 100% and to raise funds to support his hometown community through donations to ALF.
